Saving an Old Farm House One Room at a Time: Bathroom

Merry Christmas Friends! It's been too long since I've posted...months, in fact. Many apologies. Regardless, I have photos of the bathroom, and wanted to share them! I will try to post updated photos of the entire house before 2012 gets here! Yikes!

Okay, here is the bathroom before.... You can't miss that fancy pheasant mirror behind the toilet.

Yes, this photo is messy. However, it's too great not to post. We decided to add texture to all of the interior walls to hide blemishes. This is my mother (very petite) painting the newly textured walls before we rip out the old countertop/sink/toilet. (Note: She's standing on the counter and she STILL doesn't have to duck to miss the ceiling, HaHa)

This photo is after we took some hammers and pry bars to the room. Basically we ripped out everything except the vanity and the shower unit. In this picture, I have already sanded down the vanity in preparation to stain and refinish it another shade.

Here is the first look at our now updated bathroom.. We added wainscoting, a new countertop and sink, new mirror, lights, new toilet, new hardware, new floor. Ooooohhh I LOVE it! (Please disregard that all the cabinet doors and drawers have not been re-attached in this photo.)

This is what the shower looks like now.

We still need to do some caulking, but this give you the idea of the back splash. (This was on move-in day, so disregard my tubs of toiletries, please and thanks.)

Whew!! This room is one of my favorite transformations of the entire house. I'll get the other rooms up soon. TTFN!
